There are many techniques available and it is important to choose the one that suits you best. So this means trying out a few to see which one resonates. If you are trying a technique give it a week, maybe two, to see how you like it and to see what you get from it.
I’m not going to go into all of the techniques here in detail as there are already numerous respectable sites which deal with them. An important thing is also not to get bogged down in techniques, stick to the main ones that are described by respected experts in the field.
In Part Four of Astral Dynamics, Projection Exit and Technique) Robert Bruce looks extensively at Astral Projection technique so that is well worth a read. You can find a free copy of Astral Dynamics on Internet.

To keep up my astral projection I used a visualisation technique and a focusing technique both of which I have written or ‘videod’ about on my blog.
The visualisation technique was really a mix of visual and tactile, I really saw my astral destination in my mind and reproduced everything that I had felt when I was in my chosen place, which was my parents’ garden in the UK. The smell of the grass, the feel of the tree I used to climb, I can reproduce it so well because I had spent so much time there as a child, in all seasons. I think I could write a book just about the garden! Also how I felt while I was there, so full of joy, so many moments joined to make hours, mornings and afternoons, sometimes I feel as if it never rained in that garden….. whoops there I go getting carried away.
As well as the above I use a focusing technique:
You can copy this technique from my site and print it out for your own personal use, just click the above link. Or see the ‘Focus’ section where I described this technique.
William Buhlman gives a good run down of techniques in his book ‘The Secret of the Soul’. Of course you can use a combination of several techniques, like I did and continue to do. I have also started to use another technique, totally new to me, it involves getting in touch with your energy body and using that connection to wake up in mind awake/body asleep. However we’ll look at that next time when we will be dealing with energy and how it effects the OBE.
Here’s a few more techniques
I hope your AP Practice is going well and you are getting results, don’t forget never give up, reprogramming our minds can sometimes take longer than we would like.
