The title of this episode is Ricky Martin and Pasta Sauce and it does all sound a bit silly, but even what may appear as silly lucid dreams may have an important message.
A thought occurred to me as I was about to type up this lucid dream from my notebook, it is written in the present tense, the comments afterwards are in the past, for my mind in the physical the dream is a past event, when I write a dream I have noticed that it is more natural to write in the present. In my book Astral Dancer I wrote all the dreams and out-of-body experiences from this perspective, however I have noticed some conflict in my mind while awake, that wants to write the dream or OBE in the past. Of course this makes more sense to our linear way of thinking whereas the dreaming mind, which is related to our subconscious does not have this problem. Anyway, just an observation.
I think I’ll go with my subconscious and continue with the present tense, after all it is only in the physical we need to have a linear way of thinking, or how would we ever be able to make sense of our lives? In the end all is in the now, as Seth points out, the present is our point of power and it is only through it that we can connect to who we truly are, we exist only in the present.
So to the dream, I am at the top of some steps, at some sort of teaching conference. At a certain point I am putting something somewhere, it’s difficult to explain and I’m sinking into the floor which is soft, I am high up and if I sink through I will fall. Someone tells me to be careful but suddenly I realize I’m dreaming and I know I can fly so I let myself sink through the floor, I fall a little way then stop in mid-air, I’m so happy to be flying, it feels so good. I can hear music , it’s Ricky Martin, La Copa de la Vida, the Cup of Life, and I fly over to a piazza where he is doing something for charity, he is providing everyone with pasta sauce. At one point I am practicing my self-control in flying by holding myself perfectly still under a kind of pink bridge. Then I decide to go with the ‘pasta parade’, the music is playing and Ricky Martin is singing and dancing with his big smile. I join him and bottled pasta sauce appears in front of us, we dance on it and around it, it is such a joyful event, try listening ‘La Copa de la Vida’ and not dancing.
When I woke up I had no idea where I was or what I was supposed to be doing, for a moment I thought I was supposed to catch a plane but it didn’t feel right, in the end I got the download, I was on holiday at the beach, it was morning and time for coffee.
On occasion I’ll wake up and for a few seconds not remember which me I am, in this case I started to get the wrong download, maybe there was another me who at that time was about to get on a plane.
Anyway, I got up, went for a coffee and started reading my book, the words I read were, “It’s the right place to be, in every sense. You are there, when – and where – it matters. That’s what music is telling you, too, when you’ re listening – even more, perhaps when you’re dancing – when it’s harmonious layered patterns of predictability and unpredictability make meaning itself well up from the most profound depths of your Being.” (12 Rules for Life – Jordan B. Peterson)
Sometimes it’s good to just go with a dream or lucid dream and not just grab the opportunity of becoming aware to dive into the astral. Dreams and lucid dreams can give us important messages if we just allow and go along with the action. In this dream the colour red was important, the red of the pasta sauce, the song La Copa de la Vida, the Cup of Life is full of passion, La Vida es Pura pasion, life is pure passion. Red is the colour of the first chakra, health, physical energy, grounding and stability. Why pasta sauce? Well in Italy many people make their own pasta sauce with fresh tomatoes, when I had this dream it was pasta sauce making season. People make enough to last all winter and hopefully give me some lol, so it’s about creation, working together as often families do it together, creating something healthy that lasts all winter. Maybe this dream is saying that we need passion to get us through the dark months of winter, i.e. difficult times, having a passion for something gives you energy. We need to be grounded, remember our roots, where we came from who we truly are. Pasta sauce making is a tradition going back generations.
This dream gave me a blast of energy and an important message particularly in these difficult times so I thought I would pass this message on. Remember life here is transitory, in the end we all die and from a different perspective, looking back on our lives from a higher viewpoint, we may be able to see our lives in a more objective way as we are able to look at thinks globally and see all the connections.
