The Pool in the Garden

Dreams and OBEs are inextricably linked, when we are working on ourselves, delving into our depths, some things come up continuously over the years and you don’t really fully understand the symbolism. For years in OBEs and dreams I’ve found myself in an old villa, I would say Italian. An old stone building, overgrown and forgotten, but it is more the garden that is of interest, it is overgrown and there is a small rectangular pool, this pool has also appeared in experiences in my parents garden, a place in the astral I use as a sort of base camp. I have always called it my sacred garden. The pool is not modern but one you might find in an old Italian villa, made of stone, the water is greenish with algae, sometimes it is empty. In the experiences I always want to swim in it, though it is a bit small for proper swimming.

I am reading a boot at the moment called ‘Braiding Sweetgrass’ by Robin Wall Kimmerer, yesterday it described how an elderly lady wished to return to her former home after many years, it was run down etc. There was also a part describing how the author had bought a house with a pond that needed cleaning, this could have triggered my dream, or maybe the universe conspired to create a series of feelings and events within me.

Even recurring dreams are often a little different each time, sometimes showing how progress is being made, the dream may show you this progress with small signs. It is certainly worth working with dreams as I’m convinced much of our healing can be done in dreams and OBEs of course. Who knows what we have avoided having to deal with in life thanks to our dreams. A rather neglected area of our humanness I think.

Anyway in the dream I had in the early hours of this particular morning there was progress in the old Italian villa saga.

I am in my village in England, in the road where I was born and brought up. Originally we lived in a different house in the road and then we moved next door but one. In the dream I realise they are renovating the first house we lived in. I go round to the garden and the pool is there, they are renovating this as well, I am so happy as finally I will get to swim in it. There are a team of workers there, they are very nice and ask me what I want to do with the pool. What size do I want it? I’ve never wanted a big pool really just big enough for me to swim in it. Too big is too much maintenance and would take up too much space.

When the pools were all closed a few years ago I set up a pool in my garden and swam using an elastic harness it worked a treat until winter arrived and the water was freezing so I ended up just doing cold dips. I miss my pool in the garden lol.

Anyway my husband was there saying it only had to be small, but his small wasn’t the same as what I meant by small, could have symbolised a voice of restriction? The workmen are asking me what I want. I tell them it has to be long and wide enough for me to be able to swim with my elastic harness and I lay down to see my height and arm reach if doing front crawl also width for breaststroke. I then leave, a worker offers to help me up a steep step I say ‘I can manage myself but I’ll accept your help’ He gave an air of confidence and security.

So now it is interesting that now the overgrown stone pool is being renovated so I can swim in it. It is also symbolic that the pool was in the garden of our first house, where I was born. The day before this dream was the 1st May, we were in spring, symbolic of new beginnings and rebirth, and I had spent most of day working in the garden.

Although this podcast is called the astral projection podcast I do think it is important to stress the importance of not focusing simply on the astral realms as the goal, there are many wonderful, thought-provoking, opportunities for growth that can be experienced beyond the astral realms and also through dreaming. If we restrict our journeying to only the astral realms we are once again acting in a limited belief system like on Earth at the present time. I think we should look to always expand not just in our travels in other dimensions but also within the physical body we are presently focused in.
